As part of its efforts to achieve the mandate of the Institute, the Administrator of the National Judicial Institute, Justice Babatunde Adejumo, led some of its team to pay a courtesy visit to the First Bank of Nigeria towards deepening the stakeholders’ engagement.

The National Judicial Institute (NJI) and First Bank of Nigeria recently held a partnership meeting in Lagos to advance judicial education, with First Bank committing to support under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework. The collaboration aims to strengthen continuing judicial training, enhance ethical standards, and modernize capacity-building for judicial officers across Nigeria.

Notably for its trailblazer in implementing effective CSR policies in various countries, the First Bank has been committed to Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives centred around five key pillars, to wit: Environmental Sustainability; Economic Empowerment; Health; Education; Arts and Culture; and Heritage for several decades and has consistently demonstrated its support for the community.

The NJI Administrator, Justice Adejumo, used the historic avenue to seek the Institute's partnership with the Bank in the provision of educational and healthcare facilities and installation of Automated Teller Machines within the Institute for the greater good of judicial education.

While appreciating the First Bank team for the gesture, Justice Adejumo strongly posited that the proposed initiatives/projects will benefit the Institute in no small measure and will invariably align with First Bank’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Goals.

In his remarks, the CEO of the First Bank, Mr Olusegun Alebiosu, expressed the readiness of the Bank to partner with the National Judicial Institute on the development of judicial education in Nigeria under their Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Goals.
