NJI Strengthens Collaboration with AMCON, reiterates commitment to capacity building for judicial officers

As part of the National Judicial Institute's efforts to leverage the partnership with stakeholders on the actualization of its mandate, the Administrator of the Institute, Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo, OFR led the management team to pay a courtesy visit to the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) headquarters to explore avenues for deepening institutional collaboration.


The discussions centred on leveraging the Institute’s expertise to enhance AMCON’s workforce and operational efficiency, while jointly promoting knowledge sharing and corporate governance best practices.


In his opening remarks, Justice Adejumo emphasized the crucial role of AMCON in Nigeria’s national development by stabilizing the financial system and supporting economic recovery.


During a high-level engagement, both institutions emphasized the importance of judicial efficiency in the resolution of debt recovery cases, which are central to AMCON’s mandate of stabilizing the financial system. The NJI pledged continued training and capacity building for judicial officers to ensure that AMCON-related matters are handled with expertise, fairness, and timeliness.

 

The Administrator of the NJI, Justice Adejumo noted that “strengthening the judiciary’s capacity to address complex financial disputes is essential to sustaining investor confidence and promoting economic growth.” AMCON’s leadership commended the NJI’s role in equipping judges with the knowledge required to expedite debt recovery, thereby enabling the recycling of funds back into the economy. 

 

The NJI team was received by the AMCON Managing Director/CEO Mr. Gbenga Alade, and other top members of staff.

 

According to the statement released by the Institute Head of Information and Public Relations, Mr Kolade Umoru, the collaboration reflects NJI’s dedication to promoting ethical standards, transparency, and institutional synergy across the justice and governance sectors.
