Hon. Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar

Hon. Chief Judge, Katsina State

Hon. Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar was born on November 21, 1958, in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State. He began his education at Aya Primary School, Funtua (1965–1972), followed by secondary education at Government Secondary Schools in Zaria and Funtua, obtaining his West African School Certificate in 1977. He proceeded to Bayero University College, Kano, where he earned his LL.B (Hons.) in 1981. After attending the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, he was called to the

Bar in 1982. He completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Rivers and Kaduna States between 1982 and 1983.

Justice Abubakar commenced his legal career as a Pupil State Counsel with the Kaduna State Ministry of Justice in 1983. He later joined the Kaduna State College of Legal Studies, Katsina Campus, as a lecturer. In 1983, he entered the Kaduna State Judiciary as a Magistrate Grade II, rising to Chief Magistrate by 1987. With the creation of Katsina State in 1987, he was appointed Chief Registrar and Sheriff of the Katsina State Judiciary, serving from 1988 to 1994.

Justice Abubakar's contributions to the legal profession have been recognized nationally. He was a recipient of the National Productivity Merit Award in 1998 and is a Fellow of the International Dispute Resolution Institute. He has also participated in various community development projects and has been involved in numerous national and international legal seminars and workshops.

He is married and blessed with children.
