Hon. Justice Elvis A. Ngene serves as the Chief Judge of Ebonyi State, Nigeria. He was appointed to this esteemed position in March 2021 by Governor David Umahi, following his tenure as the most senior judge in the state's judiciary.
Throughout his career, Justice Ngene has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to judicial excellence and reform. Under his leadership, the Ebonyi State Judiciary has prioritized capacity building and the welfare of judicial personnel. Notably, during the 2023/2024 legal year, he reported significant investments in training and retraining programs for judges, magistrates, and other staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver justice efficiently.
Justice Ngene has also been instrumental in modernizing the state's judicial processes. He inaugurated a 15-member Advisory Committee to facilitate the Court Administration and Case Management (CACM) project, aiming to digitize court processes and enhance the speed of justice delivery.
