Hon. Justice Halima Sadiyya Mohammed

Hon. Justice Halima Sadiyya Mohammed was born on May 3, 1963, in Tula, Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State. She began her early education at the Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School in Billiri from 1969 to 1975 and proceeded to Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin, for her secondary education between 1975 and 1980. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1985 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986. She further pursued her legal education by obtaining a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from the University of Jos between 1999 and 2001 and also acquired a certificate in computer studies.

Justice Mohammed commenced her legal career as a State Counsel II in the Ministry of Justice, Bauchi State, in 1987. She rose through the ranks to become the Deputy Chief Registrar (Process and Litigation) in 2000. On June 19, 2001, she was appointed as a High Court Judge in the Gombe State Judiciary. Throughout her career, she has served as Chairman and member of several Governorship and Legislative Election Petition Tribunals across Nigeria.
